MAURO BERTOLI,
the winner of many national and international competitions, has established himself on the international stage having been praised by the press for his formidable technique and his exceptional musical sensitivity. When the celebrated Canadian pianist Louis Lortie listened to Mauro Bertoli's playing he immediately recommended him for an appearance at the prestigious Orford Festival in Canada.
He has performed at important festivals and in major concert halls throughout Europe, Israel and North America. His appearances with orchestra include appearing with such as Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana, Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, Palm Beach Symphony Orchestra, Texas Festival Orchestra, Orchestra Coccia of Novara, and the Chamber Orchestra of Brescia to cite a few.
Recently famed pianist and conductor Philippe Entremont invited Mauro Bertoli to perform Beethoven's Concerto No. 1 with him in Ottawa the occasion achieving a success for both artists.
Besides focusing on his solo career, Mauro Bertoli is an active chamber musician and has appeared with noted American musicians and in recital with Austrian violinist Wolfgang David, Norwegian violinist Liv Hilde Klokk and the principal flutist of La Scala, Milan, Marco Zoni.
He has recorded CDs fir Sarx Records, Stradivarius and Son Art Studio. His most recent CD featuring the music of Beethoven and Schumann was sponsored by Casa Bugatti Italy. He has been a featured performer for Radio Classica Milan.
Mauro Bertoli is the recipient of the Giuseppe Sinopoli Award for 2006, the most prestigious Italian prize awarded personally by the President of the Italian Republic. He received his musical education at a variety of institutions including the G. Verdi Academy of Music in Milan, the Academy Santa Cecilia in Rome, the R. Romanini Foundation in Brescia, at the A. Cortot Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, and Stockholm's Royal College of Music, ultimately receiving the International Certificate for Piano Artists in Brussels.
