DIMITRI
BOUCLIER
Dimitri Bouclier, at 21 years of age, has become the classical concert accordion's figurehead. The winner of competition after competition since the age of 10, he is now invited to festivals throughout Europe and has performed in recital and with orchestra in France, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland, Portugal, Italy, Bosnia and Serbia. Since 2005, he has also performed concerts in duet with his brother Julien, a violinist, as well as with the winner in violin of the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium, the Long-Thibaud, Tchaikovsky and Montreal Competitions, Marie-Annick Nicolas. Ms. Nicolas has been quoted: "I saw audiences getting up, transported by the charisma of this interpreter and the noble tones of his fascinating and inequitably underestimated instrument: the concert accordion! To summarize, the word which comes to mind is 'Magic.' Yes, there's nothing to add, it is simply Magic!!"
While young Mr. Bouclier's list of prizes is really to long to enumerate here, it should be noted that he captured the Gold in the Classic Junior Category at the World Cup in Portugal at 18; and, at 19, won First Prize unanimously at the World Trophy of Accordion in Sarajevo.
Born in France in 1989, Dimitri Bouclier began studying the accordion at 7 years-old making his solo recital debut at the age of 10. He studies with his father, Thierry Bouclier, director of the Annemasse Accordion School, as well as with Jacques Mornet at the École D'accordéon CNIMA St. Sauves in the Auvergne province of France.
His talents are showcased extensively on the Internet's You Tube featuring his performances of Bach, Scarlatti, Rachmaninoff and contemporary composers. He elicits thousands of viewers amazed at his talent and good looks.
