GRIGORY KALINOVSKY

made a unique double debut at Carnegie Hall, appearing as a soloist in the Brahms Violin Concerto on the main stage, and presenting his New York debut recital at the Weill Recital Hall. He has subsequently been praised by critics as a "true lyricist, rousing powerful emotions, yet remaining their complete master...possessing full brilliant sound, powerful captivating rhythm and sweeping virtuosity."

Most recently, Mr. Kalinovsky has toured throughout North and South America, Europe, Israel and South Korea performing in recital and as guest artist with symphony orchestras. He has collaborated as a soloist with Pinchas Zukerman conducting the Sinfonietta Orchestra of Beer-Sheva in Israel, as well as with other leading conductors. His artistry has been especially admired in Bolivia where he has been repeatedly re-engaged to perform as soloist with the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional and where the critics applauded him for his "...unquestionable musicianship and mastery of technique."

As a chamber musician, Grigory Kalinovsky has collaborated with many renowned musicians such as the aforementioned Pinchas Zukerman and Ralph Kirshbaum. He has been featured on many radio programs, including several broadcast on New York City's classical music station, WQXR, the radio station of The New York Times.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Grigory Kalinovsky first appeared at the age of thirteen as a competition winner, performing with the St. Petersburg Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. Three years later, he became the youngest winner of the Bellini International Competition in Italy. He is a graduate of the prestigious Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Zukerman and Patinka Kopec.

Grigory Kalinovsky is currently on violin faculty at the Manhattan School of Music both in the Preparatory and College Divisions and at the Heifetz International Music Institute at Queens College in New York City.
